We went on a wild card with gotravel direct -DON'T EVER DO IT -it was supposed to be a 41/2* or better and wasn't even close-started with waiting for food at the non existing pool mexican snack bar that opened when ever they felt like getting to it. Not having enough lounge chairs for us to seat on, not enough servers to serve the guests, the ones that were there couldn't keep up, being all inclusive and having to sign a check every time you wanted something. The pool was so cold you couldn't swim, the hot tub very dirty. The sushi bar was seats in the open lobby that the food came from the same one kitchen so you had the wait for it(it was very good when you got it -credit to the cooks). The 3 restaurants that they advertised in the booklet in the room and on the internet is the same one restaurant-different name for breakfast, lunch, dinner. If you plan on staying a week you will eat everything on the menu at least a couples of times and if you do not like fish then you have a choice of chicken or steak. The servers again are run off there feet having to do the proper 5* dining that they think they are. Different items a few nights or buffet to make a quick meal would be nice. The hotel rooms were nice a can of white paint can make a room look bright and fresh just don't look at the walls to close and the cleaning staff do a good job. I think most of the rooms over look the beach so you get a beautiful view. As someone else had mentioned that end of the beach is very windy so the red flags were up all week. There is no entertainment at all-no music, no playing in the pool, no volleyball, don't plan on staying up one night because that is the night the bar will close early, we were a group of 12 people so we went to other resorts and played volleyball(one of the gang had their own ball) open lobby was uncomfortable in the little chairs and so windy we had to hold our cards from blowing away. Cheap place to stay if you plan on eating at differnt places throughout the week and want to do nothing but read and have a quiet vacation this is the place.

My husband and I stayed at the Bel Air for two nights because we couldn't check in to our timeshare until Saturday and I must say, it was a great experience. When we first arrived, we were greeted with a glass of champagne. All of the staff were wonderful and they were always there to help you with anything you needed. The hotel is very quite, which my husband and I both loved. We were able to catch the R1 or R2 bus and it would take us to the many eateries, clubs, etc. and then we were able to return to the Bel Air for a quite evening. we had a ocean view room and it was truly an amazing view. The rooms were very well maintained. The beach was beautiful and the price was even better. No one could believe I only paid $65.00 per night. It was truly a great experience.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in EVER...and we stay in hotels a lot!

First, I booked online and we decided to go a day early. So, I called and they said that they had lots of vacancy, which is obvious because of the swine flu, violence, etc in Mexico.

We showed up at 11pm after a long bus ride. So, when I went to the "front desk" (which is a students desk set up in the lobby), the guy told me that the price had doubled now because I didn't book online. WOW. On top of that, I paid cash for the night ($117 US vs. the $65 US I paid online) and they didn`t have $3 change for me and said that they`d ``owe me $3``

Then we made our way up to the crappy room that had the pot lights falling out of the ceiling and rusty furniture and food no the floor. I noticed that the pillows were feather and I am allergic to them. So, we called down to the front desk and they said that they don`t have hypo-allergenic pillows and I should sleep ON A TOWEL!! They said they would send some up...never happened.

We went down for breakfast and ordered our $10 US breakfasts. When we got the bill, it came out to $40 US!!! At breakfast, they pointed out the fresh fruit at the table next to us and said to help ourselves, brought around orange juice in a pitcher, and gave us a bread basket with breakfast. Well, the bill came and we were charged $5 US for the bread basket, $5 for the piece of canteloupe I ate off the fruit table that they said was ``included on the menu``, and $2 for each glass of OJ that they poured us!!!! COME ON! On top of that, I paid with cash and they didn`t have change for me and said they would rather I just charge it to the room....

We went to the front desk and complained about the pillows again after sleeping on a towel. The lady there said that they have `never heard of anyone allergic to feathers`in all the time she was at the hotel`` (please...). So, my wife said that she was going to put that on Trip Advisor. Well, about 5 minutes later they came up to me with a letter saying that they were sorry and they magically found pillows..and that they would accept my cash now for bills.

The one day we spent there we were at the pool and beach, which is very nice I have to say, and were again taken. We ordered the food and it was awful and expensive also.

The hotel is crappy, the food is crappy and the service is crappy...unless you mention trip advisor.

One would think that with the current state of Mexican tourism that hotels would be bending over backwards for clients and not gouging them for every dollar they can....very disappointing.

Upon leaving, the hotel asked if we`d like a van to take us to the airport. I obviously said yes and they had their guy drive us to the airport, which was 10 minutes away. When I got out of the van I was expecting something like $10 US as that is what I paid to get there for the bus station, which is double the distance away, and the driver charged me $35 USD!!!!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! IT`S A GARBAGE HOTEL THAT DOES NOT CARE AND WOULD RATHER MAKE AN EXTRA DOLLAR THAN HAVE A RETURN CUSTOMER.

I do not understand the bad reviews this hotel has. The food is really good, they prepare it for you at the moment. The staff, even if they do not speak perfect english, they try to do their best to help you out. The hotel is very clean. We got a nice ocen view room and the housekeeper did an excellent job. There are some details missing but if you need something, like extra towels or shampoo, just ask for it and they will deliver to your room.
Honestly, for the price paid, is an excellent choice. Do not expect to Four Seasons or Melia accomodations standards but for this price paid you get excellent service, food and clealiness.!!
I do recomment this hotel for people that wants to get excellent location, beach, food, clealiness and cheap price!
