Myself and three of my buddies jusr returned from a trip to Cancun. This was my first trip to Cancun and we stayed at the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach Resort which was located down the street. This club is a medium bar/small dancefloor club located right across the street from Coco Bongo and down the street from the Cancun Convention Center. We stumbled across this place because the line to get into Coco Bongo was so long to get in. We walked into this open aired bar/covered dancefloor and had a surprsingly good time. The staff was very nice and the service for a bar/ 1/2 dance club was pretty good. I rate this place as above average for the following reasons...
The price of drinks was pretty good. We are beer drinkers so we were drinking "buckets of ""Sol"" ". The price for 6 beers (full size 12 oz beers" was $200 pesos or about $20 bucks. For about a little over $3 bucks a beer in a tourist area for beer I feel is a pretty good price.
There are plenty of tables with tall stools to sit down or you could stand. It is open aired so you can see what is going on around you also.
During the course of the night, the staff will get up on the bars and do some sort of choreographed (hope I spelled that right!) dance which is entertaining. Also, they drop confetti during some parts of the night as well as give everyone balloons and make funny objects out of the balloons (and use them in funny ways if you know what I mean!) Finally, a spontaneous congo line would erupt every once in a while sparked by the staff which would spill out into the street and back into the bar.
They have all kinds of lights and lasers (not like coco bong by all means though) and the d.j. was actually pretty good playing a mix of current and past american dance music as well as latino music you could dance to. The dance floor is small and just so my fellow tripadvisors understand, this is NOT a club like the CITY or Coco Bong by any means. Just a fun place.
We returned a few other nights and stayed for a bit and moved on to a different club but it wasnt a bad place I thought to start out a night.
Finally, if it is a slow night, there are employees standing outside to try to get people to come in. We bargained with them and got 2 buckets for SOL at the price of 1 when it was slow in the beginning of the night! So always keep an eye out when it is slow. FINALLY, ALWAYS USE PESOS when in CANCUN! Dont' use U.S. Currency!
