My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary for 4 nights at the Royal Cancun and 6 nights at the Royal Playa Del Carmen from April 14th-April 24th. We have been on many cruises, but this was our 1st all inclusive adventure. I did extensive research before booking, and afterwards was concerned about the overbooking, but absolutely no problems. I did the online check in and it was a breeze. From the moment we arrived we felt like royalty. The staff is amazing, especially for the wages they make. I am not sure I would be all smiles for the amount of hard work they put in and for the hours they work. The place is absolutely immaculate, and so beautiful. The pool was great and the view from the room was unbelievable. The food was very good, but I have to say that after a while I just craved some plain food. We really enjoyed Spice for breakfast. Bloody Mary's every morning. We enjoyed the Spice in Cancun better than Playa Del Carmen, because they made the doughnuts and churros fresh--what a treat! I guess it is because Cancun is a little smaller resort. We took a day trip over to Isla Mujeres and that was a great way to spend a day. Beautiful place and driving the golf carts was a blast. Riding the bus all over Cancun was quite an adventure--but you better hold on, because they drive like maniacs! We also rented a car and went from Cancun to Chichen Itza and back through Vallodolid to Playa. That was also a great day. We would go back to either place in a heartbeat--in fact, I'm already trying to figure out a way to pay for it.
