The food and the service was phenomenal! We stayed for our honeymoon. You couldn't ask for a more elegant hotel either! The restaurants within the hotel were amazing. The buffet was awesome too! The service was unbelievable. I will most likely be staying at the same hotel in the future!!! Definitely book this one!!!

We just returned from the Royal and I couldn't wait to get back to post my review. I've stayed at quite a few hotels, but The Royal has to be among the best (with the exception of the guest services rep who kept stalking us). Upon arrival to the hotel, we were taken to the concierge for check-in and given a glass of champagne and a cold towel. After check-in with the concierge, we were turned over to a guest services rep who went over the amentities of the hotel. He invited us to breakfast the next morning for a 90 min presentation..He said he wanted to show us the different restaurants and activities the hotel has to offer. We initially accepted the invitation and was given a slip with our appt time. However, after reviewing the slip, it required both my husband and I to come together with a major credit card(whenever I see a credit card is required, a red flag goes up because he was going to try to sell us a timeshare for their other properties)--Needless to say, we didn't show up. Everyday after that we were hounded by Carlos. He initially offered us $50, a beach bag and a towel.. By the 3rd day since we kept turning him down, he then bumped up the offer to $100 plus the beach bag and a beach towel.. Even though he was very persistent, we still turned him down and tried to avoid him at all cost...

When we arrived to our room, there was a bottle of champagne and a piece of cake with a Happy Anniversary sign. Also our bed was filled with rose petals and towels shaped like doves. Our room had a minibar with beverages and snacks. The oceanview displaying the turquoise water from the room was magnificient.

The service was also great. I have to give recognition to Esperanza (the waitress in the bar lounge). She was wonderful. She made sure our glasses stayed full and came around every 5 mins to check on us. Also, Ceasar (the pool attendant) was also wonderful. As previous reviews stayed, please bring plenty of small bills to tip. The entire wait staff really work hard to make sure all guests are pleased and they truly deserve it (plus service is a little bit better for the tippers).

As posted by previous reviews, my husband got sick while we were there. . I recommend bottled water and I only ate foods I could identify (no experimenting for me).

Located across the street from the resort : Bubba Gump Shrimp, Margariettaville, Outback Steakhouse, and Pat O'Briens. There is also a stripmall where you can purchase inexpensive souveniers.

Transportation: We arranged to have CancunShuttle pick us up from the airport. We payed for roundtrip transportation which was only $34. The taxi's were charging $80-$120 just to take people from the airport to their hotel. If you are staying in the hotel zone, the R1 & R2 buses are very convenient and inexpensive. The cost is only 65 cents whereas the taxis were charging $40.

We would definitely stay at this hotel again as the rooms were spacious, the service was wonderful and the entire ambiance of the hotel was very romantic and relaxing.

The Royal Cancun

My husband and I, along with another couple stayed at the Royal Cancun June 12-17. We both had Royal Jr Suites Oceanview. When we arrived Thursday afternoon we were whisked up to the 6th floor and greeted with champagne and cold towels. After getting our arm bands we were told that our rooms would not be ready until around 3:30. So we decided to check things out and eat some lunch. We had lunch at the tapas place. We shared the sampler which was plenty for the four of us and had many drinks. After staying there for awhile talking, we went back to check on our room, which was ready. It was a beautiful room (rm 610) with 2 double beds. So my husband quickly asked for a room with a king, they said they could move us and our friends, who also had a room with doubles (rm 612) Saturday, which was fine with us. The rest of the evening we walked around the resort finding everything and having dinner at Pelicanos. Which was nice, right on the beach, beautiful. Friday we went on a Jungle Tour excursion. Amazing. You kayak out to the part of the ocean were you snorkel then you go thru a jungle on an old jeep like vehicle(crazy ride) and go to a sink hole, way cool, then you go snorkeling in a cave followed by an authentic Mexican lunch. This was an awesome excursion, I highly recommend it. After we got back we went to the pool and then to Asiana for dinner. The tempura fired ice cream is a must try. Saturday we went to the flea market 28. Got some good stuff to take home. Then back to the hotel for pool time and drinks. We ate at Spice for dinner. Sunday my husband and his friend went scuba diving and my friend and I soaked up the sun at the beach and at the pool. That evening we went to Senor Frogs for a complimentary dinner from our excursion group. Monday my husband and I went and had a couples salt and sugar scrub and a hot stone massage. It was the perfect way to end the vacation. We then headed to the pool for many drinks and lots of sun. We ate at Maria Maries our last night. Perfect. The food, the drinks and the dessert...all wonderful.
Just wonderful. Every morning but one we ate breakfast at Spice. They have pretty much everything you could want, same for lunch. We ate ate at Pelicanos one day for lunch, wanted to try something different and boy was it. I had the stuffed filet and my husband had the mexican flank steak. WOW. So good. After we finished we both ordered each others meals again for a second round!! I loved going to the coffee bar every night for a sexy coffee and every morning for a caramel frappuccino. Every night we ended up at the lobby bar for live entertainment and drinks. This place is amazing. It is so beautiful. I will definitely come back and recommend it. Can't say enough good things about this place. Oh and we were moved Saturday to our new rooms(rm 433 & 439) just as beautiful, just one big bed!!!

My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary for 4 nights at the Royal Cancun and 6 nights at the Royal Playa Del Carmen from April 14th-April 24th. We have been on many cruises, but this was our 1st all inclusive adventure. I did extensive research before booking, and afterwards was concerned about the overbooking, but absolutely no problems. I did the online check in and it was a breeze. From the moment we arrived we felt like royalty. The staff is amazing, especially for the wages they make. I am not sure I would be all smiles for the amount of hard work they put in and for the hours they work. The place is absolutely immaculate, and so beautiful. The pool was great and the view from the room was unbelievable. The food was very good, but I have to say that after a while I just craved some plain food. We really enjoyed Spice for breakfast. Bloody Mary's every morning. We enjoyed the Spice in Cancun better than Playa Del Carmen, because they made the doughnuts and churros fresh--what a treat! I guess it is because Cancun is a little smaller resort. We took a day trip over to Isla Mujeres and that was a great way to spend a day. Beautiful place and driving the golf carts was a blast. Riding the bus all over Cancun was quite an adventure--but you better hold on, because they drive like maniacs! We also rented a car and went from Cancun to Chichen Itza and back through Vallodolid to Playa. That was also a great day. We would go back to either place in a heartbeat--in fact, I'm already trying to figure out a way to pay for it.

“Loved it!!!”

The Royal Cancun

My husband and I and our 3 grown children(ages 18,19,& 25)stayed at the Royal Cancun from June 11 - 17. This was our second visit because we had such an incredible experience last summer. We were not disappointed this year either. The food and service were excellent! The rooms are lovely and the beds are very comfortable. Every restaurant has good food, but we especially liked the Pelican. We never had a problem getting a cabana or poolside chairs, and my family played pool volleyball everyday. One thing that was disappointing was that they have discontinued playing games at the pool every afternoon apparently because of complaints. They used to do trivia games,... and if you got an answer wrong then you had to take a shot of tequila and we used to have so much fun! If you won the game, you received a bottle of tequila. If we hadn't had volleyball, we would have been bored. We met some great and fun people, and the guys at the pool who ran the activities were awesome. Said, Alvarro, Alex, Rolando, and Fernando---we love you guys and you made my kids vacation awesome! All the beachtlers and waitresses at the pool are friendly and will do anything to please you from applying suntan lotion or even aloe vera if you're burned. Ask for Caesar...he is the best!!! Remember to tip these people a few bucks. They don't get paid much and they work long hours. We highly recommmend this place...you will not be disappointed!
