We contacted Ben at Mayan Aqua Dive back in Feb. to inquire about diving during the Easter break and made contact again with him 3 days before our trip in April. We booked our dive for the day after we arrived in Cancun so that if we liked it, we would have the opportunity to go again during our 4 days there. He confirmed that he would take us out and would pick us up at the hotel at 11:15 a.m. but to call him at 8:30 just to make sure the time would be okay. We called him that morning promptly at 8:30 only to be told he booked someone else in our place for that day. Never a phone call from him to let us know that he was bumping us. He told us he would take us the next day. Friday, we called again just to confirm our pick up time and was told that because of the wind, he could not take us that day. Again, no phone call from him. At this point, we were frustrated with his lack of communication with us - he had the name of our hotel, our name,and a number to call us but never did. We finally did get to dive with another organization but only once during the 4 days. The kids loved it and really had thier hearts set on going again on the trip. Unfortunately, we had no time left on our vacation.
I was extremely disappointed with the service we got from Ben and his crew. We tried our best to confirm up our plans with him before arriving in Cancun. Be careful!!!!

I needed to find a dive shop that could fulfill my open water certification needs. Well, I found it and a whole lot more. I started emailing with Ben about 1 1/2 months prior to my trip to Cancun. He was always very helpful and prompt in his emails. At first meeting Ben makes you feel like you are an old friend, he is a great people person. All of my dives went great and they really did go above and beyond to help me get certified. Thanks Ben, you have made this part of my journey unforgettable!! All I can say is that Ben and his team are incredible!! Like the picture shows, Ben with 2 thumbs up. That is exactly the way I feel about Mayan Aqua Dive!

My wife and I are recreational diver and have dove all over the world. We recently went to Cancun and used Mayan Aqua Dive for both reef dives and Cenotes dive.
On both experience we have nothing but praise to their professional approach and ability to accommodate our needs.
My wife was somewhat apprehensive at Cenotes but the staff and their preparation put her at ease and made that new dive experience a great memory for the two of us.

Trip planned for cancun mexico from march 12- march 20th. we landed in cancun but made no reservations for diving. my husband thought that we could go ahead and scout out some places in mexico on our own.. i had previously been looking and saw mayan aqua dive on the internet.. when we got to mexico we tried to plan a trip through the hotel and after calling several dive shops there was no way we could get our daughter certified in her open water and us certified open water divers to dive at the same time. the hotel wanted us to bus our 15 yr old to other operations while my husband and i dove at another location.. Well lets just say that wasnt going to happen.. i got on the internet and emailed Ben from Myan Aqua Dive and in less than 20 min we were talking on the phone and making plans to meet the next day for all of us to dive and my daughter get her open water cert. this was amazing.. we wanted to stay together as a family and experience the same things. as it turned out my husband and I decided to go for our advance dive cert all at the same time my daughter did her open water.. this was the perfect soulution for us. Ben and his staff were a PERFECT match for us. While my daughter worked on her dives with Carl, Ben, Geroge, Gerogette (haha) Angle all went diving to the ship wreck. by the time we came back my daughter was done with her pool and ready to do the reef.. which was amazing by the way.. then we did the night dive and the cenotes as a family.. by the end of our 8 days we were all certified in our dives and complete.. Sirgeo took film while my daughter did a shallow dive and we snorkled above and watch the Whole thing. i cant say enough about this dive team. they are the best we have been with and knowlegable. we were informed of our dives b4 we dove and then de briefed after we were done.. Not once did we ever feel unsafe or in secure about our dives. and my daughter had the best experience in her life thanks to Ben and staff.. We can not wait to do it again next year. not only did we have a great week but we made some pretty awesome friends for life.. that is worth a thousand words.
