Just got back from the Yucatan and stayed at Posada Luna for 5 delightful days! Janet greeted us after hours of travel & took us to our room complete w/balcony & a safe, fresh H20 & AC. She gave us a map & highlighted their favorite places to eat which we did right away. (By the way, the mattresses were awesome too!)

Each place we tried was as good if not better than the next. Janet and Jack took the time to make sure we were doing what we came to do. In fact when we asked about an excursion Janet made several calls & arranged a snorkeling & cenote tour. We were joined by another "Posada" couple & were picked up by Vanessa of Manzanos Expeditions. After our snorkel we were taken to a "privately owned" cenote & had the unique experience of a "private" tour. The cenote w/stalagtites & stalagmites, bats, & a final dip truly exceeded our expectations!! We came back after our 6 hour tour exhausted but THIS was the highlight of our 2 weeks in Mexico!

Janet and Jack are truly interesting and exceptional people. They have created a place that fosters the opportunity to mingle (or not) with other guests from all over the world. We were there during the high season when Posada has a breakfast of fresh fruit, juice, coffee & freshly made bread & met people we'll be keeping in touch with due to Janet & Jack's "casa".

Thanks to Janet & Jack, we'll see you soon, but not soon enough!

My fiance and I feel very blessed to have crossed paths with Jack and Janet. They are gracious, well spoken, down to earth individuals. We stayed in Tulum a total of three nights, and were coming to terms with the possibility of a tropical storm raining through our vacation. In consolation, Jack invited the two of us to enjoy some fine tequila at their home for my birthday. They live on the third story of the building and play a fundamental role in the functioning of the hotel. That evening, we spent about three hours sharing stories of our serendipitous lives, learning about Tulum and Mayan culture, and ultimately...celebrating life. As fate would have it, the storm veered away from the coast line long enough to allow us time to enjoy the pristine beach and snorkel in a cenote.

Posada Luna del Sur is a wonderful option for people who are on a budget. If your wanting guidance on where to go or knowing what to do, Janet is amazing. Both Jack and Janet come downstairs each morning and commune at breakfast, giving assistance and suggestions to anyone who needs it. The hotel really has a mom and pop sort of feel about it. Being graced with the artistic flair of Jesus the house keeper, who surprises you each day with towel art combined with Jack and Janet's wise and hospitable personalities...we REALLY had a wonderful experience.

Jack and Janet are awesome!! Love them and love their place. After a long day of travel, Janet greeted us at the door and showed us to our room (A/C!!!). She took some time to go over the Tulum map and give us tips on places to eat and drink - all of them fantastic. It's a given that the people make a place a home, but the rooms and grounds were nice too. Clean and comfortable, the beds were great!! Jack and Janet and the entire Posada staff treated my wife and I like family, I felt truely welcome.

Janet's suggestions were great - she hooked us up with Manzanos Tours who showed us a great time at a great price - don't go to Tulum without looking them up - great snorkeling spots, cenote and Sian-Kaan trips - they were great - can't recommend them highly enough and none of it would have happened without Janet and Jack - they are true gem's. I can't wait to visit them again soon.

I stayed here with my wife for 4 nights in late june this year, and we had a fantastic time. Janet was there to meet us after a long journey and showed us to a spotlessly clean, comfortable room, with AC, TV, Fridge Freezer and a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. She also gave us all of the information about Tulum, booked a tour for us to Chichen Itza - a great day out. We were sorry to leave, and this place is an absolute bargain for $58... The hotel is in town, so if you are set on being next to the beach do be aware, but the quality of accomodation on the beach is twice the price for half the quality - we had no problems with a 5 min / $5 cab ride to the beach.
