We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo and absolutely adored it. We were treated like royalty from the moment we checked in to the minute we left.

The staff could not have been more polite or helpful and we were certainly not looked down on because we weren't A list celebrities.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, opulent and grand. Our room was huge and the bathroom amazing. It was spotlessly clean and our towels
were changed at least twice a day. We couldn't fault the service of any of the staff at the hotel although we were slightly surprised when our room service breakfast was delivered to us while we were still in bed!

Although we didn't use the swimming pool or the spa other people in our group did and had a wonderful experience. We especially liked the connecting tunnel from the hotel to the spa which takes you under
the road without you even realising it!

The hotel is in the best location in Monaco, right opposite the Monte
Carlo Casino and in the heart of all the action. I agree with other reviewers that the doormen not letting tourists in to the lobby to take photographs is a benefit to the guests staying at the hotel, although you do have to appreciate that the hotel is a tourist attraction in its own right and tourists gathering outside is the
norm.

Yes, everything is very expensive, but that's Monaco. You go on holiday to spoil yourselves and the Hotel de Paris certainly lets you
do that!

I was a little skeptical about staying at Hotel de Paris after reading some of the reviews. I was afaid it would be stuffy and was worried about not having an outdoor pool. I could not have been more wrong. It was absolutely the nicest place I have ever stayed. The staff was warm and accomodating, they were very generous about giving us an upgrade to a HUGE room. The room is cleaned twice a day and the Hermes bath products are fabulous! While several reviews complained about the doorman keeping people out of the hotel we found it to be a benefit. This hotel is right in casino square, and it is filled with gawking, annoying tourists. Walking through that mob into the serenity of the hotel was great! As for the pool there is a heated salt water indoor pool with a large, nice sun deck. You also have access to the Monte Carlo Beach Club but we liked it so much we never left the sun deck. Make sure you call the day before to reserve your chairs!

The bottom line was that this was the perfect Monaco hotel. You feel like a rock star driving up to check in to the hotel (even if you are driving a rented Toyota!), it is truly in the heart of the action. You can walk to any of the other hotels and you get free access to the Casino as a guest. I would also recommend getting a reservation at Le Louis XV, the 3 star Michelin restaurant in the hotel lobby. While it is VERY expensive, it is a once in a lifetlime experience. I hear that the lunch is much more reasonable but since women have no prices on their menus what do I know!

If you are making a trip to Monaco do it right and stay here. If you can't afford it you would be better off staying in Nice and driving in for the day.

We went to Monte Carlo for the third time to get away from it all after a particularly difficult year. We took a beautiful suite in the Rotonde area of the hotel overlooking the casino at a £1000 per night thinking we would undoubtedly be treated like gods - wrong! The staff are rude and treat you like passing trade. Perhaps they know that the hotel will always be full however they treat you, because of its position in such a great part of the world? The clients are unbelieveably pretentious too - don't forget your ever present shades... they even wear them in the indoor pool. We love Monaco for a chill out weekend but would stay in the Columbus again next time - much cheaper much better.

My husband and I stayed there valentine's weekend in 2003, and we were pleasantly taken aback. When we travel we try to always stay at Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) or SLH, we must mention that this on is by far on of the best. We had an amazing view of the casino, a fabulous room, and the service... superb.

We flew into Nice and took a helicopter ride over to Monaco, and we were then transfered to the hotel. We also had a lovely man named Patrick drive us all over the Riviera in his luxury mercedes. The most amazing experience for us was dining at the luxurious Alan Ducase Loius XV restaurant located in the hotel. We enjoyed an amazing 7 course meal. I think that everyone who stay at the hotel should experience it.

All in all it was a great.
