Very pleasant setting directly on the river, private car park, comfortable rooms (but no air-conditioning), good dining and excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff. A short stroll to the city centre which can also be reached by boat directly from hotel. A very enjoyable experience. Make sure you ask for room overlooking the river.

We had an overnight stay in Movenpick Hotel Neu Ulm last 4 June 2006 and we were satisfied with the accomodation. It's in a quiet neighborhood. It was clean with enough space for a family of 4. Our room had a nice view of the Danube River. My 2-yr old son loved the rubber duckies waiting for him in the baby cot and the tub. The breakfast buffet was excellent except for the eggs that you had to line up for but didn't taste that good. We chose a table in the restaurant that was facing the Danube and we had a great view of a peaceful morning. It is within walking distance from the city center (maybe 10-15 minutes) and the walk is very pleasant. If you don't wanna walk that far, there's a boat just right outside the hotel grounds that will take you across the river (where the center is) for about 1 or 1.50 euros. If you're coming in by car, it is easy to locate. It is only 30 minutes away by car from Legoland in Gunzburg.

Stayed at the Movenpick (Neu-Ulm) in May 2004. I was not expecting much out of a chain hotel, but was pleasantly suprised by the quality of the service and the room. My room was quite spacious and included two double beds w/ down comforters and an Amercian style bathroom (standard tub/shower combo). Staff was responsive and spoke excellent English. An iron/ironing board and extra towels are provided upon request.

The hotel is located directly on the Danube and adjacent to a conference center. A walking path along the Danube runs parallel to the hotel. In May I saw a good number of swans in the waters. After a 5 - 10 minute walk, the path leads to a bridge which is used to cross from Neu-Ulm into Ulm. The Movenpick is a fairly decent walk from the Ulm train station. A taxi is advisable. It is a pleasant and safe 15 - 20 minute within walk from the Movenpick to the center of Ulm (including the Ulm cathedral). The hotel is also withing easy walking distance a grocery and many bars and inexpensive cafes.

The hotel restaurant was good, however, expensive compared to the other nearby options. Breakfast was decent, but not impressive, with cheese, lunch style meats, bread, jams, yogurt, soft boiled eggs, and canned fruit.

In general, I found Ulm to be lovely and the people welcoming and friendly. The main Ulm square has a fantastic Farmer's market on Saturday morning. For a nice dinner, I would reccomend a Spanish-German (unusual combonation) restaurant on the main square.

My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful time at the Movenpick Hotel and resorts at Doha Qatar. I am presently working in Kuwait and my husband was in route back to North Carolina form Afghanistan. I was able to take 2 days to meet him in Qatarl. Well we hadn't seen each other in about 3 months and we decided to meet in Doha. Well to make a long story short I was on the plane in route to Qatar and had no clue where I was going to stay. The gentleman sitting next to me recommended the Movenpick hotel and even made me a reservation. Once I arrived they were expecting me, signed me right in and I was in my room in about 5 minutes. Once I enetered the hotel I was a bit impressed and couldn't believe that it was only costing me about 150.00 per night to stay there. They have a piano bar, a restaurant, a pool, and of course 24 hr. room service. I have been to many hotels and none of them was the staff so curtious, helpful and so polite. I am a wonderfl, wonderful memorable time at the Movenpick in Qatar. The food was delicious and they will make you just about anything at anytime of the say. Because of my diet I ordered Salmon for lunch and dinner and they cooked it just the way I asked for it. They had shrimp, steak, chicken, well in other words just about everything. In the piano bar they have a very nice establishment and respectable. They have a lady playing the piano and they also have a belly dancer that comes on at 11pm every night. Check-out was also done very rapidly and efficiently. I would definately recommend this location to anyone. Have fun and if you are looking for a nice getaway, this is it. We never left the hotel until it was time to take out flights.
