We relocated to Puerto Morelos from Cancun, which was too crowded and noisy for us. Puerto Morelos is quiet , small and friendly.
Villas Latinas made us very welcome, showed us 3 or 4 rooms for us to choose from. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but not all of them have the same facilities. Some do not have aircon, some don't have TV and some don't even have a hanging rail for your clothes! You have to look around and choose the facilities you want. Having chosen our room we settled in quickly and really liked the hotel. When we were there they were just getting the pool ready for the season, so it was being cleaned each morning and was still a bit cloudy. However, the back of the hotel opens right onto the beach, you just walk down in your swimwear with your snorkel gear if you like and you're in the water! Unfortunately there is no shade on the beach, i.e. no umbrellas, palapas etc., so you are right out in the sun which could be a problem if you have a fair skin. The Villas Latinas is only 5 minutes stroll from the town square and several restaurants, or you can go out the back way and walk along the beach.
