“a rocky vacation”

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya

Not one of my greatest vacations; I've had better. The pools were great. The hotel was average. The restaurant El Rancho and the buffet were good. Chef Octavio was the best. Some of the staff were rude, especially the waiter Miguel from the restaurant Las Baracas. If you are going there for the beach, it is very rocky and small. I mean there are really big rocks in the water. If you enjoy long walks on the beach it is not the place for you. Be sure to wear beach shoes and get travelers insurance just in case you get hurt by tripping over a rock. My experience could have gone better. It is not a hotel I recommend when I know there are better ones out there. Grand Sirenis is too far from all the action. On ten I give it a four. A suggestion: go to the royal at playa del Carmen. You can’t go wrong!

Great Place! We had no problems, the food was always good ,the drinks were great, especially in the lobby bars. The room is good you have to be close to your mate. The hole in the wall not a problem it's like "so what". Everything was very clean people were cleaning all the time. The most annoying thing was how the guest couldn't pick anything up after themselves. I know your on vacation, but come on the people who work there are not your personal maids. The beach was real nice, we snorkled alot. so many different fish to see. When you snorkel take a banana with you it's amazing to see all the fish come to eat it.

Booked on line with Apple Vacations.Denver Cancun charter on Aeromexico.Upgraded to first class for 100.00 rt pp.The hotel is south about 1hr 1/2 from the airport.
Its a very open property with lots of space. There are many pools and bars.I am from a high altitude,so drinks were very weak to me.The staff is helpful and friendly. Most speak english.I heard many other languages.Mainly french, italian and british.
I thought for buffets, the food was good and varied. The rooms are large. We had a jungle view.My favorite restaurant was the steakhouse. There is a large outdoor theater for evening shows.
The beach is a little small.I would hate to be there during busy season.

“Fabulous Wedding!”

My husband and I were married at the Grand Sirenis, so if you are a bride and considering getting married here, feel free to get in touch with me. Otherwise, this review will be fairly brief.

Rooms. We had a fabulous stay. Our rooms for the wedding were all in the same building, closest to the beach. The only problem with the rooms was for some of our single friends who were rooming together: not all the bathrooms have a frosted glass window, which can be awkward for families or singles rooming together. Some of the rooms DO have frosted glass windows, however, so I would just suggest mentioning when making your reservations that you would need one of those rooms. The rooms were always clear and well-kept. We (hopefully like most people) did tip the room service every day, anywhere from a couple dollars to five dollars. One of the couples in our group did not, however, and their rooms were cleaned exactly the same, so you will not get worse service if you do not tip, although I think it is a nice thing to do.

Food. We had reservations at restaurants every single night we wanted to. While they typically only will book you for four of the non-buffet restaurants for a 7-night package stay, if you go to the restaurant at the time they are sitting people, they will usually let you eat there (We love the buffet anyway). The late dinner times was somewhat frustrating, especially because we came towards the end of one of the weeks, so a lot of the early evening dinner reservations were already completely booked. By the time the dinners rolled around, however, we only ended up having late night reservations twice.

Activities. My husband got his scuba certification here, and we were able to go on a couple dive trips. My father and uncle did the discover scuba program and went on one of the dives with us, so it was a lot of fun. Their dive shop is excellent, and they gave me discounts for booking group snorkel trips along with diving trips, and they are really eager to help you. Wonderful service there. I DO NOT suggest making your water activity reservations up at the hotel lobby. They will not necessarily give you discounts, but if you go to the dive shop itself, Adolfo (who is the manager) will almost always. One couple in our group had trouble with making reservations in the lobby and then not being given our group's discounted price.

Weather. We went in June, and the forecast according to weather.com was storms the entire week (it was the beginning of rainy season) but it did not rain a single time other than the day we arrived! It was perfect weather, and not particularly hot, even for June. There was an amazing breeze, and the evenings (when you had to wear more than your bathing suit) cooled off fairly quickly.

Wedding. We worked with Sylvano, and he was absolutely fantastic. He helped us book a restaurant for our reception that they don't normally allow wedding parties to be in, and he really took care of all the details. We went diving the morning of the wedding, because we really weren't worried about anything. We met with him the evening we arrived, which was a little tiring for us, because we had just been traveling for quite a while. But after that, we didn't have to worry about anything. The location on the beach is beautiful, they rope off the area for you and don't allow people on the beach in front of the ceremony, or on the ruins for the duration of your ceremony. The flowers were also gorgeous. Again, feel free to contact me if you have more specific questions!

WONDERFUL TIME!

“Amazing Time”

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya

My husband and I have never been to a all-inclusive so we were not sure what to expect. But, I can tell you we have very high standards and large exceptations.. Grand Sirenis met each one of them. I had sent a email requesting a room with a view. They gave us a total up-grade!!!! The rooms and hotel was beauitful and impeccable. The drive from the airport was alittle long but worth the drive. The staff was always pleasent, kind and very serving. They were truly happy to be at work. I bet they skipped to work each day. :)

There was food as far as the eye could see. I think they need some help with seasoning. But, with all the international clients and their taste, it is probability better to leave food without seasoning to please everyone. The coffee shoppee made Starbuck's look second place. We even enjoyed the evening shows. Not Broadway.. but, nice.

Our vacation was a no stress, mesh brain kinda vacation. We were planning on returning before we ever left. I plan on making a return trip with our children and grandchildern next year. There is fun for everyone and all ages. Lots of activities.
